Just popped on Dirt Rag's site today and saw some great pictures of the Sojourn posted by Justin. From what I hear, Justin is into loaded touring so we are excited to follow his review on this bike and we hope you will be as well.

A SOJOURN TID-BIT

The NEW Adventure Cyclist came today and as we were flipping through we saw this great little paragarph on the SOJOURN by John Shubert, the technical editor, in his Interbike 2007 recap article.

"The Raleigh [Sojourn] was getting constant attention in the booth -- always a good sign -- and it distinguished itself with both accessories and cosmetic innovation. It comes with fenders, a rear rack, and disc brakes. And 700x35C tires fit under those fenders. Words do not do justice to how the vanilla paint job meshed with the Brooks B-17 leather saddle and leather handlebar tape."

GEAR OF THE YEAR, BikeTown, COASTING, & EDITORS CHOICE

1} Outside Magazine's Buyer’s Guide is out and our Supercourse got the "KILLER VALUE" stamp. "A race-ready bargain. Raleigh reclaims some of its Tour de France-winning heritage with its new line of full carbon, race-specific frames."








2} Raleigh, along with Shimano and Trek, is participating in Bicycling's BikeTown project. Our target city is Minneapolis, MN, where 50 of our Coasting bikes will be presented to 50 individuals. "Five years ago, BikeTown began with an editorial experiment. What would happen if we gave some people a new bike? Would they ride it? Would it make a difference in their lives?"

3} The folks at Alternative Medicine Magazine have been rolling around on our Coasting bike for the last month. They found it to be so efficient and fun that they included it in there list of how to be "more green this spring." We should also see a letter in the next issue of Alternative from the editor paying homage to our Coasting bike.







4} Bicycling's Editor's Choice Award's issue is out and the Competition looks pretty sharp in juxtaposition to the "thumbs up" icon.

DIRTY XXIX AGAIN!

Mountain Bike May 2007

We have always known how fun these bikes are and now it seems word is getting around. Mountain Bike magazine had a great time rolling around on our XXIX. So great, in fact, that they felt it deserved the attention of their front cover. Along with a solid cover photograph, a stellar review of the bike is found on page 94; take a click and read it for yourself. You will also notice that Mountain Bike tagged the review with a nice little golden medallion that reads "BEST OF MOUNTAIN BIKE NOMINEE."

The Buyer's Guides are out! And Raleigh has a nice showing in Bicycling Magazine's 2007 annual Buyer’s Guide. Actually, we hit 8 categories of the 14, one of those being a two-page spread featuring the Mojave 8.0. David L’Heureux, writing about the Mojave, offered this praise: “The very essence of being a recreational rider means you want more than just a mountain bike. And it is the Mojave 8.0’s versatility that makes it a true winner in our eyes.”

VeloNews and Bicycling’s sister (or brother) magazine, Mountain Bike, also put out their guides. In the track category, the Rush Hour Pro sits confidently in VeloNews on the same page as LOOK's $9000 496 frameset, a pretty nice juxtaposition. The Raleigh Rowdy takes best bike honors in the Kid’s category in Mountain Bike.

COASTING

A perfectly timed seven-page Coasting article titled “The Revolution Will Be Simplified” is in the current Bicycling Magazine and compliments the line of Raleigh Coasting bikes now hitting your dealers floors nation-wide. This article explains Shimano’s concept of "Coasting" and how it stems from the desire to reunite people that haven’t touched a bike since their childhood with the fun and exhilaration of riding. The Raleigh Coasting bike was featured in the article with a great title page photo and a "lifestyle" shot.
